Light-activated Corelet droplets made from BRD4's IDR (green) form and dissolve within the chromatin (H2B, magenta) of a U2OS cell nucleus

BRD4 Corelets showing larger condensates in relaxed chromatin regions, smaller in dense chromatin regions.

H2B-marked chromatin showing exclusion of chromatin from condensates, and relaxation of chromatin after deactivation.

Targeted light activation can trigger droplet formation in spatiotemporally controlled manner <3

FUS condensates (green) nucleate and grow at FUS-marked telomeres (magenta). Upon deactivation, droplet dissolution brings two telomeres together, repositioning them in the nucleus.

BRD4 condensates nucleate repeatedly at sites of genomic acetylation

Upon JQ1 treatment, the same nucleus shows significantly different BRD4 condensate nucleation, growth and diffusion behaviors.

Cajal bodies (magenta) marked with FUS-coilin spread onto the surface of FUS Corelet droplets (green). Fusion of coilin-ringed FUS droplets leads to repositioning of the original cajal bodies.
